ECUMENICAL CENTER AND INTERNATIONAL RESIDENCE

ECIR building

The mission of the ECIR is to be a reconciling international, interfaith, living/learning community across the lines of religion, ethnicity and culture. It provides a variety of ministries with and for student and faculty from many nations of the world, as well as for other members of the Ann Arbor and university communities. The word 'Ecumenical' stems from the Greek word for "the whole inhabited earth". Ecumenical expresses our understanding of God's intention that the human family live together in justice, community and peace.

The purposes of the ECIR are:

  • To facilitate global education in the hope that peace may prevail,
  • To promote the ethical and religious bases for enduring friendships, and
  • To be an international community where people of the world may learn to live together and care for one another.

For more information, email info@ecir.org, or give us a call at the ECIR, +1 (734) 662-5529. We encourage you to make inquiries about renting an apartment in advance of the term when you'd like to move in. Summer rentals are also available. Apartments are available any month during the summer and in the months of January, May and August - every year.
